FAI/CIVL Online contest

Scraping from other contests

Andreas Rieck|CIVL|FAI|On-Line Contest|PG|USHPA

Andreas Rieck writes:

One option:

Create your own privately driven national contest (regardless which platform) and announce yourself as an official observer for your own contest. The drawback is, if the USHPA sometime in future creates "its own" contest, then your private one will cancelled. (This happened for example in Poland). You can choose http://Xcontest.com if you want. Or http://XCGlobe.com and so on. Just be aware, Xcontest will not automatically transfer flights to FAI/WXC. You must make a agreement with them, maybe a little fee, I do not know.

After that when everything is clarified, I would get a link from the Xcontest developers, to integrate into WXC. In case of any US Pilot Support Questions - you are responsible for it. The WXC have a nightly sync log file available, if a organizer likes to see what is sent by Xcontest (and maybe what is not).

The other option:

As a pilot, you can already choose Paragliding Forum (Leonardo) or XCGlobe. Both  are open to anybody, without a NAC-driven contest.

Again Xcontest does not transfer the "World Xcontest" competition flights to FAI, even if FAI/WXC would like to get them, they won't be sent automatically. You need an agreement with them, which is usually easy to organize. Xcontest makers will respond usually very quickly and will implement it quickly.
