News on the Belgium Open, but it's in Dutch. See http://www.ladeesse7.blogspot.com or a short clip here: http://koosdekeijzer.info/PreWK/belg1.wmv.
Yesterday we had a good day. Launched from Aspre and set a task of 105 km zig zag to the campsite at Laragne. As far as I know three pilots on goal: 1. Richard Lovelace 2:43, 2. Joost Eertman 2:49, 3. Koos de Keijzer 2:59

Timothy Ettridge <timothyettridge> writes:
Alex won on Saturday, shooting across goal with Christian and 20 year old German pilot Tim Grabowski in tow. I stood by Alex just as he was taking his helmet off. Tim came up and peeling his own helmet off as he shuffled to Alex still inside his harness, to Alex he said, "Danke! Danke! Danke!"
Hearing this, someone asked Alex if he had helped him. "No! No! Not at all," Alex replied. Apparently Tim was just enthusiastic about being able to keep up with and even ride the Alex/Christian train.
With the diameter of the speed goal being 2000m, the pilots pull up and disperse long before they cross the 400m diameter of the distance goal overhead. Alex, Christian, and Tim were so close together it was hard to tell who crossed first. Alex told me he had but that Christian had lead much of the race.
Currently Alex remains in first over all with Christian and Primoz close behind.
In the women's division, Corinna reached goal a full five minutes ahead of Kathleen. Carole even had a few seconds on Kathleen but they were so close that the points show them as tied for 2nd for the day.
Kathleen remains in first with Corinna and Carole in second and third over all.
On Saturday Primoz didn't cross the 400 meter cylinder and therefore had a twenty percent reduction in his speed score.

2008 WRE, waiting
(This topic is in: Jul.28 Jul.25 Jul.24 Jul.23 --> )
The good old days haven't returned
(Zapata, Texas)
The hurricane really upset the beautiful pattern that we had before it came. Now the NAM and the RUC forecasts are completely at odds, which seems to indicate that historical patterns have been disrupted. Winds are light on Sunday morning with little to no over running.
