Like ReliRescue
Broadcast both SMS and GPRS over the web
Daniel Vélez Bravo <danielvelezbravo> writes:
I have been using another "somewhat" free tracking software similar to ReliRescue on my Qtek (Windows Mobile 6) cell phone. It's interface is not as nice as ReliRescue, but it can be used for simultaneously reporting to SMS and also via GPRS to a web server.
The beauty of it is that you can actually make a Google earth link and track in real time using a internet connection on a pc or on another phone web browser, using data connection that is usually less expensive than text messaging.
The software is called reperion. You could take a look at it in www.reperion.com and see the tracking via web on http://tracker1.reperion.com
It even saves a log. I'm not sure if the free version has it as I've paid something like 10 or 15 US. (More like a small support than an actual license).

US women's team
Help from others
Salamone, Linda <Linda_Salamone> (50% of the US Women’s Hang Gliding Team) and Lisa Verzella (the other 50%) writes:
Thanks to the Wing of Rogallo group, who recently had a fundraiser for the US Women's Team. Carmela Moreno was the likely organizer of this event and it really moved me to know that this woman and her friends, whom I have never met, took the time and spent the energy working on a solution to our financial plight. So thank you so very much, Wings of Rogallo, and Carmela, for your support.
Thus far we have had our entry fees covered by the Foundation for Free Flight, the design for the T-shirts provided by Roger Baker with Paul Voight's nudge, the website for ordering pulled together by Sean McDaniel and his wife Maureen, the quality T-shirts made by Yesterday's, the accounting done by Brooks Lyon, advertising by the OzReport, Hanggliding.org, and USHPA-AERO, lodging in Italy arranged by Mario Luppa, financial support from Utah Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association, 360 Wireless, and T-shirt purchasers all over the world, and last- but certainly not least- moral support from Raean Permenter, Connie Locke
, Lisa Tate, and my sweetie- Lauren Tjaden
.
By no means is this a complete list of everyone who has helped out, and we still have 2 months to go before Lisa and I head to Italy, so my apologies if I overlooked someone. I will blame it on my ADHD and hopefully catch them in the next round of thanks.
We are running low on T-shirts, and considering another printing, so if anyone has let it slip their mind to get one, visit http://www.rochesterareaflyers.com/GOTTAFLY.html and send me an e-mail stating what you want so I can be sure to have the right size and color.

Dustin Martin

He goes to 7,000'
(Quest Air, Groveland, Florida, USA)
This is the polar automatically created from the data that Dustin took from his flight this morning:
Click on above for the high resolution version.
Find the filtered and corrected data here.
Find the bare IGC track log here.
Dustin was not quite as steady holding a given speed and his "error bars" are a bit bigger.
