Like the little green skids 34 12 35.97 N, 117 18 10.30 W, Marshall launch(Marshall launch)

Last Thursday when I was out flying with Steve Pearson at Marshall he gave me a pair of his new black Delrin skids for the Wills Wing control bar.  They keep it off the ground and keep it from getting scratched up.

A few days earlier I had sent him and Rob KellsRob Kells a link to my previous article on Little Green Skids:

I pointed out to them that I couldn't get these little green skids to fit on the Wills Wills base tube.  I was hoping to spare the base tubes on the gliders that I have borrowed from Wills Wing from any further skid marks.

Was it a coincidence?  Perhaps.  :-)

The new black Delrin skids for the Wills Wing base tubes, actually fit the Wills Wing base tube.  This makes them much more valuable to me.  The little green skids only fit the Airborne base tube.

Two differences.  The black skids from Wills Wing don't snap on.  You need to take a minute to undue the bolts at each end of the base tube and slide the skids on.  That way you are sure that they are going to stay there.

The Wills Wing skids don't look quite so aerodynamic.  They are in fact kinda clunky looking.  But I just can't imagine it makes that much difference and the extra plastic beefs them up,

I suggest that you get your local Wills Wing dealer to order you up a pair of these today to save your control bar further damage.  The come free with Wills Wing glider with wero base tubes.  If you've wrapped the base tube hand holds with tape, these little guys will protect that also.

If you want to make them look a little more aerodynamic, use your knife.
