Visited Kenny Brown, the Moyes USA distributor this week in Auburn, California,
situated in the foothills of the Sierras 40 miles west of the state Capital
city, Sacramento. Ken and his family are doing great and I got to check out
Ken's Moyes distribution center, his garage, specially built to handle Moyes
parts and pieces.
In addition to handling all the affairs of Moyes in the US and working through
US Moyes dealers like Kraig Coomber, Mike Barber, Marcelo Zanetti and others,
Kenny works part time as a salesman of solar electric panels. While I was out
flying, he spent the weekend at the Auburn Home Show at the Auburn Fairgrounds.
On the back side of Ken's place is the American River north fork and south fork
confluence. Highway 49 (as in the California Forty Niner's) passes over that
confluence ad it is the center of the Auburn State Recreational Area. Lots of
mountain biking.
Auburn bills itself as the Endurance Capital of the World, and there are a
number of races that attest to that, but I do believe other sites are getting
longer races with more endurance required. http://www.auburnendurancecapital.com/
Navigation, power and communications systems that rely on GPS
satellite navigation will be disrupted by violent solar activity in 2011,
research shows. See

I have been reading some articles at Oz Report lately about the
fact of the number of hang glider pilots is decreasing during the past years
around the world. So I decided to give my little contribution to change this
scenery and teaching a friend of mine the art of flying and I realized just in
his first day of training that the guy has "the gift" of hang gliding.
