Looking for places to visit, to fly at, and to write about.  Tell us where we should go. 39.534999844085,-119.751667,Sparks, NV(Sparks, NV)

We are currently in Sparks, Nevada, but on Wednesday (September 27th) head for Auburn, near Kenny Brown (Moyes USA)38.919485846191,-121.058421,Auburn, near Kenny Brown (Moyes USA) and Sacramento38.581666847331,-121.493333,Sacramento for the weekend (September 30-October 1st).  I will be looking for places to fly.

Over the next week (starting October 2nd) and weekend (5th through the 8th) we will be in Alameda37.765277850044,-122.240556,Alameda (near Oakland) attending the USHPA BOD meeting at the San Francisco International Airport37.614710850537,-122.39208,San Francisco International Airport.  So it looks like flying is out then.

I see from the Oz Report forum (http://ozreport.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4143) that there is a Fly-In at Lake McClure37.614710850537,-122.39208,Lake McClure (near Modesto) over the next weekend (October 14th and 15th).  That might be the spot.

How about October 21st and 22nd?  And October 28th and 29th?  How about Santa Barbara34.420829860567,-119.69722,Santa Barbara?  Is that a good time of the year for Santa Barbara.  I've never flown there.

In November and December we will be staying in an RV park in Cathedral City33.779721794111,-116.464444,Cathedral City which is right next to Palm Springs (but much cheaper).  The nearby site (Vista Point33.649337767579,-116.40071868896,Vista Point) is still not open.  I could drive to Marshall34.209991753088,-117.30286012524,Marshall and Crestline34.235983194457,-117.31301666667,Crestline, of course, but I usually find the cost/benefit ratio a bit too high when I consider driving on the southern California freeways.

So, California, what's up?

Jeez, I've never eaten during any of my marathon flights

Troili, Eric <eric.troili> writes:

The fueling handbook (http://www.e-caps.com/downloads/fuelinghandbook.pdf) has changed everything I ever thought about endurance.  It's serious fueling for endurance events.  I also use it for flying.

Ben de Garis <<dskydawg>> writes:

We had the power lines buried at the end of the runway, so now we have more options on takeoff and landings and safer for everyone.
